The Elberton Sister City Committee is made up of local citizens who work to strengthen the partnerships between Elberton, Georgia and Mure-cho, Japan.

 The Elberton Sister City Committee’s goal is to promote international relations in a unique and meaningful way, bringing long-term benefits to both the community and its partner abroad. The Sister City relationship allow citizens to exchange ideas, gain an international prospective and increase understanding of global issues as well as development of economic growth to both parties. The Sister City relationship also builds the foundation for increased tourism, reliable business contacts, cross cultural awareness, and builds a personal bridge to world peace

If you are interested in serving on the Elberton Sister City Committee contact Tom Evans, Jr. at 706-283-8821.  Committee members are required to participate in fundraisers, group activities and help to promote the program.  Committee members also make an annual dues donation to the program which are due during the month of January each year.
