Fishing Reports

Lake Russell
Lake Hartwell
Lake Clark's Hill

LAKE HARTWELL IS DOWN 14.3 FEET, CLEAR AND 50 DEGREES BY
RAPALA PRO STAFFER TIM WHITE

Bass fishing is getting better as the water temperatures continue to
slowly drop. Rain is in the forecast for this weekend, especially on
Sunday. There are still plenty of ramps that are open for launching your
boat, but check before you go just to be on the safe side. Most of the
anglers that I saw or talked to last week were using one form or
another of a Shad Rap to land some of their Bass. DT10's were also
being used to catch some of the deeper bass along with DT14's and
DT16's. Other anglers are still reporting a good Carolina Rig bite while
using a Baby Brush Hog on a short leader. A lot of the anglers are still
reporting a large number of Bass are being found in water fifteen to
twenty five feet deep. It is not expected to warm up much, so dress
warm.

LAKE RUSSELL IS DOWN 2.8 FEET, CLEAR & 51 DEGREES BY
RAPALA PRO STAFFER TIM WHITE

Bass fishing continues to get a little better each week. Water
temperatures continue to drop as colder air moves into the Northeast
Georgia region. The bait fish are beginning to move and our active baits
are catching a good number of Spotted Bass. Last week you could see
anglers moving from point to point throwing crank baits and spinner
baits along their ways. DT's and Glass Shad Raps are excellent baits to
use during this late Fall pattern. Texas rigged creative baits are also
accounting for a good many of the Bass caught. A lot of small and short
Bass are being caught but on the flip side, a solid three or four pounder
is showing up at the scale at just about every tournament. Also try
using a 3/8 ounce or 1/2 ounce Terminator Jig in those deep water
brush piles for that occasional large mouth are also being weighted in
from time to time.

CLARK HILL IS DOWN 14.4 FEET, CLEAR & 50 DEGREES BY RAPALA
PRO STAFFER TIM WHITE

Bass fishing is fair and some areas of Augusta, Georgia got as much as
3 1/2 inches of rain this past week. This should help the "Hill" as far as
water levels are concerned. Anglers are still using those crank baits on
the deep edges of the grass mats to bag some good Bass this past
week. Carolina Rigs in the deeper water is the only other method
anglers reported that was working well this past week. With low water
lake levels, it would be a good idea to take along several buoy markers
to pin point deep water structure or humps before making that cast.
DT16's can be used to bounce off the bottom and structure in the
deeper water and catch you some of those bigger Bass. Creature baits
and four inch tubes are working the best on those Carolina Rigs.
Remember, wind is a fisherman's best friend, especially during the
cooler months of winter.
