Alcoholic Beverage License

All persons or establishments desiring to sell alcoholic beverages in the City of Elberton shall make an application to the City Clerk. The application is sent to the City Marshal for a background investigation and once approved is sent to the City Council for final approval at a regular scheduled meeting. Licenses must be renewed annually, October 15-November 15. Bonds are carried over each year and refundable upon close/sale of business. The City of Elberton alcohol beverage licenses are issued in accordance with regulations and requirements outlined in Chapter 4 of the City municipal code.

If license is issued after July 1 the amount of the license is 1/2 of fee except the bond fee.

Monthly Reports: All license holders must submit a monthly alcohol report by the 10^th of each month to the Customer Service Center located at 230 N. McIntosh Street or by fax at 706-213-3279. The report is based on the sales from the previous month. Make sure to include the receipts from the distributors when submitting the report.

List of Employees: All license holders must submit a list of employees that will be selling/serving alcohol. This list must be updated as employees change and submitted to the City Clerk’s Office located at 203 Elbert Street or by fax at 706-213-3125.
