Mayor of the City of Elberton, I want to welcome you to our web
site. We are very proud of our city and after you have a chance to
click on the links I know you will agree that not only is Elberton a
wonderful community, but one that is full of opportunities.
We
are located in Northeast Georgia only 35 miles from the
University of Georgia. Also, we are bounded on the west side of our
county by the Savannah River, which holds lake Hartwell, Lake
Russell

Mayor Guest was elected in November of 2005 and began his term in
January of 2006. Prior to being elected Mayor, he served on Council
for 11 years. Mayor Guest currently services as the Fifth District
President with the Georgia
Municipal Association (GMA), Co-Chair of the East Central Regional
Hospital Christmas Motorcade, a member of the Board of Directors for
the Northeast Georgia Regional
Development Center, a member of the Transportation Committee with
GMA and a Board Member of
the Elbert County Health Department.
On a personal note, Mayor Guest is married to Gilda. They have two
children (Alec and Erin) and three grandchildren (Lexe, Tanner and
Ian).
